Kimono, the “Haute Couture” of Edo period is not mere clothing but a work of art with extremely rich expression and fine technique. Baccarat dedicated its best skill and creativity with respect to celebrating the Japanese culture and history.
“Edo Collection” was created as a new encounter between Baccarat and Japan.
The motifs were chosen from antique Kimonos from Edo era kept by the J. Front Retailing Archive Museum in Kyoto. The motifs express good fortune with traditional symbolism and with surprisingly modern taste. They tell the timeless spirit of celebration.
“Typical flowers of autumn such as chrysanthemums and bush clovers bring refreshing air of autumn. Dynamic curving line of water flow decorated with gold, gorgeous bloom of the chrysanthemum and the grid pattern of bamboo fence shows beautiful harmony.
