Baccarat presents new design collections at Milan Furniture Fair

On the occasion of 'Salone del Mobile', Baccarat invited its visitors to experience its latest design collections at Palazzo Morando, in Milan.

Guests were immersed in different universes especially crafted to sublimate the crystal pieces imagined by designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Philippe Starck.

Patricia Urquiola signs her first collaboration with Baccarat, introducing the Variations, a collection of vases and stemware.Hovering between sophisticated object and sculpture, to be interpreted together or individually, The Variations comprises a series of highly colourful pieces where glass-cutting principles and Baccarat savoir-faire have been reinvented.

Deeply feminine with its unlikely colour associations, playful and changing in its combinatory potential, Variations rings the changes on an art de vivre as imagined by Patricia Urquiola.

Featuring multiple, stackable forms in clear or coloured crystal, the Variations collection of stemware and vases is a series of surprises. Pleated, smooth, or cut, in different diameters and heights, the bowls focus attention on the solid, tactile nature of each base.

Accented by acid colour hues, the glasses exude a relaxed, neo-pop vibe, while each vase, radiating a pale, soft halo, is almost sculptural in effect, magnified by a novel glass-cutting technique.

The new Crystal Dream furniture collection takes a fresh look at the unashamed luxury of black crystal, with two new creations from the unique genius of Philippe Starck: the Crystal Supper Black table and the Small Crystal Supper Black Table.

Collections available by Fall 2012.
