Jean-Marc Gady

Biography

Jean-Marc Gady was born in Paris in 1971 and graduated from the Ecole Bleue in 1997. An emerging figure in new generation French design, his gift for handling the codes of de luxe creation ensures a range of intervention that extends from objects to space and includes scenography, furnishings, interior architecture and visual presentation. His portfolio speaks for itself: Apple Computers, Chanel, Christofle, De Beers, Dior, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon…
His career began in furniture, lighting and tableware, working for Ligne Roset and Liv’it. He was awarded several VIA permanent call grants for project development before joining Louis Vuitton as art director for display windows and events (2002-05), a post that took him all around the world, and notably to the Far East. In 2005 he set up his own design studio in Paris, and since 2008 he has also been in charge of design courses at the École Bleue. His collaborations with Baccarat such as the Amphora vase make for a clear statement of his vocabulary in which elegance and wry humour are constants.
